    huh?

I'll be sticking with the original wattle yellow, just so i dont have to repsray everything. If i was goign to change colour I would get candy apple green on joachims mk 1, but I dont' have the time, tools, space or money to do a full respray. I'll do it one day, if i keep my car for a long time.

    joachims mk 1:

It just happens to be my fav mk 1 I've ever seen.

hate to aswer for Jarred here, but seeing as im there more often than not....

yup the doors being raised, few more spots need to be hit with high fill by this ugly "monkey", then we can paint it by the looks of things its going to come out nice!

then its onto my car so we can get them both ready for Nats!

Nats is in april I believe, although I'm not sure of the exact date even!
I do know that I'll be road tripping it up with a bunch of the other Vic boys, providing nothing goes astray. I May even put in a 5 Speed for all the highway driving I'll do! I will probably enter it at nats, but I'm not expecting any throphies for this baby.

My car is nearly done now. Once it's painted, I'll get an exhaust made up, and take it for RWC, all being well come feburary, it'll be reg'd and everything. Then there will just be little things along the way that I have to fix/improve, but for now, it's nearly done!!

oh and you better get your act into gear then! the more mk 1's there the better! Wabit is also planning on debuting his cab there...

ah-ha, handy to know, thanks for that.

small update. Sanded back the work from yesterday, and hit a few spots with some more high filler primer. Tomorrow I will sand some more and then more high fill if need, and then saturday we paint! Was going to do some colour on friday night, but it will be too warm if it's anything like today.

and some pics: we threw some colour on the bonnet tonight, just cause we could really.

and the bonnet mocked up: two tone maybe????

                  yea nah.

WE'll ave to wait till saturday for what will be quite a major update i hope!!

                  bye bye kids.

not really any more pics to post, unless you wanted anything specific. I'll prost up some more piccies tomoro after I wet sand it all, if I do that.

I will take the doors off tomorrow too, so we can get at the door inners and doors jams to give them a fresh coat of colour.

                              spose that makes sense then.

I don't know about making it look easy. It's a fair bit of work, but I'm rushing is a bit, as dad's been away for 2 weeks, which meant I could have the garage to paint and work on it, but he's coming home tomorrow.. o oh..

The concept is simple, but practice makes perfect and what not. I need to vaccum the garage now tho, cause it's REALLY dusty.. oh well
Mind you this wont come out perfect, but it's my first paint job and car (modified) for that matter, so I'm still proud as punch. Unless it turns out real crap. then i wont be so happy.

wet sanded the bonnet before, and sanded down the whole car with 320 grit. still have to wetsand with 600 before colour, but before that I have to fix the door and a few other minor things

                                the bonnet:

I'm not that happy with how it turned after after the wetsand, so i might do it again, it did get rid of a few bubbles and stuff that was there tho

who can geuss the secret mod in this pic??? (josh you're not allowed to say n: )

                                oooooh. camber
